Nest thermostats keep going offline

This is kind of a FYI for those having this issue as a possible cause, and an ask from Google to address the issue...
I have 3x Nest learning thermostats. My home broadband used to be copper to the home, but I have now moved to LTE (4G) for much better performance (DL 135Mbps vs 27Mbps; UL 45Mbps vs 4Mbps).
However, the downside is the latency is significantly more (RTT times typically of 200-400ms vs 21-50ms).
This latency causes the Nest thermostats to lose connetion to the cloud server and look offline in the App/web portal. And no, its not a Wi-Fi issue as I've gone through debug with Google support before.
I do not have this issue with any other "smart" home devices/services, only the Nest thermoststs.
So Google Eng, pls see if you can address this latency sensitivity on your servers/Nest thermostats. Surely its some simple communications settings that times out!

Hello efelmer,

Thank you for sharing your experience with your Nest Learning Thermostats. Your detailed comparison between the previous copper connection and the current LTE setup highlights both the benefits and challenges associated with different types of broadband connections. While the significant increase in download and upload speeds is undoubtedly useful, the higher latency you've observed with LTE presents a unique challenge, particularly for devices like Nest Thermostats that rely heavily on cloud connectivity.

Please share your feedback with our product team as we work diligently to provide a smoother experience for all Nest Thermostat users. Feel free to reach out for any future questions or concerns.

Best regards,
Mark

My office Thermostat keeps going offline on the APP. It works for about 90 minutes after I touch the Base and "Wake Up" the thermostat. I found a workaround by going into Settings, Fan Schedule, and Adjusting from "always" to "15 minutes per hour". This way the thermostat automatically wakes up every hour when the fan turns on and now stays connected to the Mobile APP.
