Nest thermostats

Hi all

I just relocated my thermostat to a different location from down stairs to up stairs it worked perfect for about a week but just last night the thermostat showed as on but unfortunately no heat I went out to my boiler I notice the boiler would run for 4-5 min then stop and start again going for 4-5 min.

I then took my nest back down stairs and switched on and heat is working perfectly now.

so my question is where should thermostat be in relation to heat link distance wise

There are many issues with the heat link connecting to the display.

I suppose one of the main ones is distance, within 30m, but mainly walls, ceilings etc. are the bigger issues.

I'm sure in your installation booklet it will say 30m, but from memory I think they say 30m. That is a long distance for an average house, but obstacles are far more grief.

Thanks for response I’m definitely not 30m and I’d say you 100% correct regarding walls

thanks again

 Hey @Tomo6969,

I'm glad to hear that by moving the thermostat closer to the Heat Link. @Frustratedddd is right, the distance a connectivity factor, but the interference is just as important. Large objects made of metal or other dense materials can block wireless signals, for example mirrors, refrigerators or even pipes.

Let me know if you need any assistance.
