Have 2 Nests on first floor that work work fine, installed them two years ago. Purchased 2 E thermostats for second floor (power company had a promotion), and installed one. Only had two wires, a W and an R. Proceeded with install and went through set up routine - got a code telling me a stable power supply was needed, i.e. a C wire. I see conflicting advice on internet - don't need a c wire, do need one, don't know what's correct. Have been looking at the power connector gizmo, which claims to fix the lack of a C wire. Question - if I decide to install it will it interfere with the two older versions which are running fine without a C wire?
One complaint - didn't see the new one show up on my Nest app, couldn't figure out why. Son is computer smart, and found out Google is moving away from Nest app, and sure enough all three Nests showed up on the Google home page.

Why close this thread when it hasn't been answered? I have a similar problem. Purchased a Google nest thermostat setting opinions on whether or not a C wire is required. He is a C wire required? My HVAC does not have a C wire.

Thank you.
How do you share the photo here?
Have a Pixel 7 with the wiring photo but this web page doesn't seem to have a photo option...

Hello there,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for assisting, Mel.
@StanGale, I appreciate your effort in sharing the picture. Big help!
It appears that your system is compatible with the Nest Thermostats. Depending on the version you're planning to have, In most cases, the Nest Thermostat (2020) version often requires a C wire or a Nest Power Connector to deliver constant power and stabilize the flow of current into the thermostat.
Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
Regards,
Mark
