Problem setting up after factory resetwith google nest 2020

So we just moved in to this home that already had a Google nest thermostat 2020 installed. I had to do a factory reset cause the settings were setup where it was on a schedule of different temps at different times of the day, long story short. After reset, I’m not able to setup the thermostat on the Google home because it’s connected to a different router, we tried to get help from the homeowner’s but they were no help. Also (to make it even more complicated) I tried to setup with no WiFi but it still connects through the Bluetooth  even when the batteries are out, WTH! anyways I can’t find a way around this loop hole lol, any type of help or tip will be greatly appreciated!

Hi NaiK_05,

Uh-oh! I understand that you're facing difficulties setting up your Google Nest Thermostat 2020 after a factory reset because it's still connected to a different router. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. To set up the Nest Thermostat, it needs to be connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Make sure you have a reliable internet connection and verify that the Wi-Fi network you're trying to connect to is functioning properly.
  2. If you're unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network or encounter issues during setup, you can try performing a reset on the thermostat again. To do this, remove the batteries for around 30 seconds then put them back.
  3. Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is compatible with the Nest Thermostat. It should support the necessary wireless protocols (such as 802.11b/g/n) and use a standard frequency range (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). If you're uncertain about your network's compatibility, consult your internet service provider or network administrator for further assistance or you may check here in update Wi-Fi network and router settings for more.

I hope these suggestions help you successfully set up your Google Nest Thermostat and resolve the connectivity issues you're experiencing.

Best,

Zoe
