Wiring for A/C messed up by tech.

We had our furnace replaced in December when are old one died the installers also offered to upgrade our thermostat. We took a discount because we didn’t want their brand of thermostat we wanted to replace our nest 2nd generation with the new nest learning thermostat.  Everything seemed fine till fast forward to several hot muggy spring days and our A/C isn’t turning on. I think they screwed up the wiring for it and I don’t know how to fix it! Please help!

Hi 1JM75,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear you're going through this issue with your Nest Thermostat. Did you replace your Nest Thermostat? If so, did the issue start after you replaced it?

Sometimes when we make changes to our system, the thermostat may not recognize the changes. I suggest you follow the steps in this article: Thermostat wire undetected or unconfigured. After performing these steps, you should also perform a factory reset on the device so it recognizes the new system or configuration.

Keep me updated on how it goes.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Hi Urs78,

Thanks for posting.

It seems the previous link was broken. Here's the correct one: Thermostat wire undetected or unconfigured. If you can't open the link, search for "Thermostat wire undetected or unconfigured" on the Google Help Center.

Keep me updated if that works.

Regards,

Jonathan
