Google wi-fi to modem

Hi. I am trying to connect my Google wi-fi directly in to my ISP’s modem I have followed all the instructions and watched every YouTube video. I have put my Google pod back to factory settings. I have spent the last 4 hours on it but it just won’t have any of it. Please help me before I go mad. Thanks in advance.

Let's check a few things:

  • Is your modem's LAN port connected to your primary Wifi router's WAN port (the one with the globe symbol)?
  • The Google Home app finds your Wifi points during setup?
  • What exactly happens during setup?
  • What colour is the light on the device? What the light on your Wifi device means

As you selected you're using an iOS device for setup, I would also recommend following these steps:

Hi David. I go through all the motions but near the end it says I am connected but at the last moment it says connection failed. Thanks

Okay. It would really help us if you could answer the other questions I asked and try the troubleshooting steps, specific to iOS, that I linked to?
