Google wifi - seem to slow down after a couple of days and needs a restart / power on and off

I am in Australia, and on a ~100mpbs ISP plan.  Using the wifi has been great but noticed that after every 3-4days my internet speeds slows down to ~40mpbs.  A restart of network or switching the wifi modem off and back on brings it back to ~100mpbs... I have been doing this for the last 2mths since using this GOOGLE product which is getting kind of annoying.

Anyone has a solution?  I expected more from Google.

NOTE: I have read others who may experienced this and advised to buy a timer power to shut down the modem nightly.

Hi, vietntrans.
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw 383ci's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Nope, I am still having the same issues.

I did read the thread by 383Ci, wondering if I missed anything?  because from what I gather from reaidng is that there is no solution and that I should sell my Google wifi and buy the Asus XT?

Should Google still be selling these ?

Hi, vietntrans.

I was curious if you had checked their thread for context and just to make you aware that it's an issue we're seeing and working on. While we've seen the problem with multiple users, it's definitely being addressed internally and I'm hoping I have news to share about a fix sooner than later. When I know more, I'll share it here.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks, yep seems like its a similar issue/symptoms where by every ~3days or so, my speed falls from ~100mbps (the speed I pay for) to ~40mpbs.  After restarting (turn power off and back on) I get back ~100mbps.  So, I will be doing that until Google post up some solution.

Yeah, it's really not convenient at all to be doing that, vietntrans. I'm sorry that's the routine for now, but I hope to see a fix soon. Thanks for hanging in there.

Hi, vietntrans.

I just wanted to let you know that we have a new firmware release coming soon that may clear up your issues. You don't need anything to receive the update, it will download and install automatically for you. While I look for other answers, let's see if that update fixes things.

Thanks.

Hey, vietntrans.
Just to give a bit more info, the update version for both Google WiFi and Nest WiFi will be 14150.43.80. If you are seeing a different version number when you check in Google Home, you have yet to receive the updated firmware. Let me know if you have any questions about that.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff,

I too have the same problem. My firmware has not yet been updated from 13729.57.27.  Is there a way for me to force the new firmware update please? Its been driving me bananas.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

It has been a few days since you posted the above, and I also am on 13729.57.27?  However, I have noticed that I have been gong now for 5days without a restart and has been OK....

Hey, all.

The update is pushed out automatically, so there's nothing you need to do in order to download and install it. It's pushing out now, and everyone will have it within the next two weeks.

That's good that you're not seeing any current issues, vietntrans. Hopefully that holds up and we don't have any more issues. Thanks for the update.

Hi, everyone.

I know we have been waiting on that update, but it's been a while since we've checked in. I wanted to see if you got that firmware release and to see if it improved anything on your end. If you're still waiting for the firmware, it should arrive real soon. Let me know if you have seen any changes on your network.

Thanks.

Hi Jeff. I got the update but unfortunately it has not fixed my speed issue properly. My standard speed has actually DROPED a bit. However when I used the prioritise device feature I can get close to native speed to my ISP. However there is some strange throttling sill happening even when you are just using the ethernet passthrough from the nest router. Its definitely software bug given that I can be temporarily fixed by selecting prioritise device. Previously when I prioritised a device there was not change in the wireless or wired speed.

Hi, Pascal_BH.

Sorry to hear that! That's definitely not encouraging at all. Thanks for providing those details, I'll pass that along to our teams for a closer look.

Thanks.

Hey, everyone.
It looks like we've slowed down here again. We'll be closing up the thread unless anyone else has any input or needs anything else. If so, just let me know and we can keep this open a bit longer.
Thanks.
