Nest WiFi Pro - No Upload

Up until a few days ago my formerly reliable, solid, and fast Nest Wifi Pro mesh network suddenly became very glitchy. After some investigation I identified the problem as my Nest WiFi Pro mesh upload not working. I can get, most of the time, a decent download. But upload over the mesh is totally toast.

I have Frontier 1GB. I go directly from the ONT to the WiFi Pro node (no Frontier modem) then to 2 mesh points. ONT is in my basement. I have a wired connection from there to the mesh node on the first floor, and the mesh node on the second floor is wireless. Again - This has been working fine for 2 months. I changed nothing.

A few days ago everything started to go haywire.

I power cycled the ONT and factory reset the WiFi Pro units. No fix. I got on with Frontier Support to make sure everything looked good from their end. All looked fine. Another 'ahrd' or factory reset. No fix. I tried changing settings (DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) as suggested by the Nest WiFi Pro support community. No fix. Test Mesh via home app: All looks great. I am on the latest software update version.

When I run a Network Speed test from the Home App from the Node connected directly to the ONT I get 800mbps+ down and 900mbps+ up. If I run a speed test from any device connected to the network over WiFi I run into issues. Many times the speed test will not contact the server. When it does my download is OK, but I usually can't run the 'upload' test because I can't contact the server. When I am able to run it I get around 1 - 4 mbps.

This really sucks. For two months this contraption did exactly what I needed it to with no drama. But my internet search of the WiFi Pro support community indicates I am not the only one having this problem. My wife and I both work from home and are frequently on video conferences, etc. This simply will not do.

I've initiated a warrantee claim.

Hello JT7,

Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for this experience.

We understand how important a fast and reliable Wi-Fi connection is to you as you work from home. We'd love to help you get your Google Nest Wifi Pro mesh system back on track. Please factory reset your Wifi devices again and interchange and set up one of the points as the main router. Use a different Wi-Fi network name and password and check if there's an improvement in the upload speed of your network.

Keep me in the loop.

Best,
Lovely

Hi -

Thank you for these suggestions.

I have tried everything from making sure (from my ISP) the signal is stable, resetting my ONT, factory resets of all my mesh points and systems (multiple times) and the points you mention (network name, etc.)

Sadly, nothing is any better.
