Nest WiFi useless

I regret the day I purchased this system.

constantly goes offline

points keep going offline

pathetic internet speed

and the list goes on

i had to get to the point of paying for a new wifi router from my isp.

below is the speed test results. This is just a single wifi router not a mesh system and no extenders

and here is nest wifi system from the same place. This is a nest router and 2 points. One point is 3 feet from where I was sitting

Google just ignore support requests or pretend there is no issue and refused a warranty claim stating the device was not faulty.

have reported to the ACCC as the knowingly continued to sell products they knew were not fit for purpose

I’m seeing more posts about the new “pro” version being just as bad

$400 down the drain plus $250 for the router from my isp

will never buy another Google product

this post will likely get blocked as “spam” as they don’t like customers pointing out the truth

Same issues here.  I have one router and one access point to cover a small (800sq ft) 2 story condo.  The access point would go offline constantly, and the through put (as measured by the Google Home app) would drop from 800-ish MBs to under 100.  Restarting the system via the app would usually fix things, but it has to be done multiple times a day.

At another place I own, I'm using an Netgear Orbi mesh system, and this kind of stuff NEVER happens.

I found that I really didn't need the Google access point, since the router covered everything sufficiently,  so that is no longer an issue, but the drop in speeds is still a daily (or more frequent ) occurrence.

I've tried working with this system for a few years now and have given  up.  I've ordered a Netgear WiFi 6 router that has received good reviews and costs a fraction of the price I paid for this Google home garbage.

Hello Chook71

Sorry for this inconvenience that you are having with your device. Based on the information that you have provided me please follow these articles:

Troubleshoot slow Wi-Fi

Nest wifi not working

If the inconvenience is not resolved, let’s perform a factory reset

I hope this helps,

Daniel

Sorry but I don’t even need to look at these to know what they are going to say.

move the points closer together

check you settings

etc etc

my personal favourite, do a full factory reset.

been there done that so many times and the only thing it does is waste my time.

These things simply DO NOT WORK. Like more and more google hardware products.
