Nest Wifi Pro constant disconnection

I have a new nest wifi pro setup with 4 devices and constant disconnection issues.

I read the other posts so I:

1. changed the DNS

2. disabled IPv6 (even though I still see some devices with IPv6 addresses)

3. removed the 160 option

4. the router is connected direct to FiOS ONT

All the points are connected with Cat6

All looks great and when I test performance everything looks great.

But that's not how it feels.

Hi @Homeuserd,

I understand your frustration and I'm really sorry that you have to experience all of this. Even though everything seems fine on paper with your new Nest Wifi Pro setup, the constant disconnections are definitely an issue. Here are some additional steps you can try to address the problem:

1. Interference Check:

  • Physical Barriers: Move your Nest Wifi router and points away from walls, thick objects, and electronics that might emit interference like cordless phones or baby monitors.
  • Wi-Fi Channels: Use the Google Home app to check if there are many Wi-Fi networks around you on the same channel. The app might recommend a less congested channel for better performance.

2. Guest Network:

  • Separate Network: Consider setting up a separate guest network for devices you use less frequently. This can help reduce congestion on your main network.

3. Advanced Settings:

  • Device Prioritization: The Google Home app might allow you to prioritize certain devices for a stronger and more stable connection.

Please try those steps and let me know if you were able to avoid the disconnections.

Best regards.

Josh
