Can't factory reset Google Home Mini Gen 1

Hello, whenever I try to reset my Google Home Mini Gen 1, it only shows 1 red LED, and it doesn't give the confirmation message. It also doesn't respond to any attempts to contact with it, not does it do the startup chime anymore. I believe it's been over a year since I last used it. I have also tried the factory reset workaround (unplugging, waiting 10 seconds, plug back in, repeat 10 times) however that hasn't helped either. Anything that I can do so I can reset this thing and get it working?

When trying the 10 time reset process, are you waiting for all 4 lights on top to illuminate each time? You actually need to do it a total of 11 times, as you do the process once, then repeat that 10 more times.

I did that, however it didn't work. I'll go ahead and try it again in an hour. Will update you when I do.

I've tried it again more than a few times, however, it hasn't worked. Is there any way I can reinstall the firmware/software? Or is there another fix?

Sorry to hear about your Google Home Mini, but thanks for bringing this up. Kudos to @David_K for helping.

 

It is best if you could share a video showing the issue so we can further check what's going on with your device. Also, is your Google Home Mini still visible on the Google Home app?

I'll go ahead and see if I can find some time to record a video.

So far I can see the Mini on the app when I had added it a while back, however I'm unsure if I can actually control it. That'll be one thing I have to test.

Will respond once I've got a video ready.
