Display show incorrect time.

My google display shows daylight saving time when we are eastern standard time in Queensland Australia.

How do I turn it to display Eastern Standard Time.

Google Nest seems to rely on a Google database (perhaps from Google Maps?) that specifies a timezone for each address in the world. That database has errors in it. Google Nest seems to have no process for correcting such errors in its database. In fact, some Google Nest Support people act as if there is no such database, and keep telling the customer to factory reset their device, and the problem does not get resolved.

Two years ago, another customer in Queensland Australia reported the same problem as yours. After numerous exchanges with Google Nest Support, Google Nest locked the thread without any resolution (the flagged "answer" was from another customer and did NOT address the problem in Queensland):

Over the last couple of years, I've seen other posts from other customers in other parts of the world who also have erroneous time zone assignments, who also could not get Google Nest to address the issue. The only time I know of where they did address the issue was when Mexico discontinued daylight savings time, and even then it took them months to correct the problem.

Google home & hub likely refers to the calendar for your Google account (https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r?pli=1)

In the calendar settings via a web page, (cog next to profile pic) you can set the time zone, daylight saving options etc but save it as a Private or Personal calendar (or whatever name you prefer) if not already done so.

Finally in the Home app, go to Settings/Google Assistant/Manage all Assistant Settings/Calendar and select the calendar saved against your account to see if this corrects the time displayed.

I just tried a test on one of our Nest Hubs regarding this thread from another customer in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, México, who SHOULD be on the same timezone as Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México, but is NOT. I did two Google queries, and got the same wrong result that the customer is seeing: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Wrong-time-zone-DST/m-p/605559

So, if you ask one of your Nest Hubs, "Hey Google, what is the timezone for [YOUR TOWN]?", what result do you get? (Don't share anything personal, but is the result correct? It may depend on whether Google's database is incorrect for your whole town, or just for the area around your house.)

I think if you get an incorrect result, it would demonstrate the issue is in Google's database.
