Fixed my Google Home Permanently

I finally found a solution to my increasingly awful Google Home experience. After the groups stopped working, some speakers wouldn't adjust volume, others would just ignore me, others still would disconnect from wifi despite every other home device being happily connected. I realize there was the Sonos element, but I expected a behemoth like Google to find a route to renewed functionality. I was. . . wrong.

The whole experience of Google Home has gone from a 9/10 to like a 1.5/10 in a few short years. I really miss recipe instructions that worked. I really miss playing podcasts properly, I don't like that when I ask for CNN to play, I no longer get the news, but some random song called "CNN". Luckily I solved all these problems by throwing out all my Home products.

Do yourselves a favour and kill off the Home/Nest line. Focus on search/Bard. You're not a trustworthy hardware company (your best Home product: the Chromecast Audio simple vanished one day. Lean into that energy). It's clear you don't want to improve existing experiences or even keep basic functionality (I read you just killed 21 or some-such features). If there's anything Google is a pro at, it's dropping products--the time has come for you to completely walk away, as I have.

Hi 69Pat69,

Thank you for posting. We understand it can be frustrating when your Nest speaker group isn't working quite the way you'd like it to. We hear you, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

Our team is constantly working on improvements for Nest products, and your input is valuable.

Regards,

Byron
