Google Home Mini - Neither factory reset nor unplugging method works.

I have factory reset my Google Home Mini about 10 times now and I have also tried the unplugging method (11 time total) several times and neither work. When I say "Hey Google" it responds with "Your Google Home isn't set up yet. To get started, download the Google Home app on a phone or tablet." When I try to register it in the Google Home app, it continues to display "This device was previously set up by a different user, please factory reset the device." It shouldn't be this difficult to factory reset this thing.

I thought I would try the factory reset again. Now, when I do this, I just get 2 white dots on the top and nothing happens.

This little thing is ridiculous. I was finally able to get it factory defaulted, after doing it like 15 times. I then ran through the steps on the Home app and everything completed successfully. But now it is only showing 4 white dots and it won't respond. What the _____ is up with this thing?

Disregard - I was finally able to get it all setup. Even if it did take hours.

you have to set the device up, after it was bricked by google update?

According to the description it wasn’t bricked by the recent firmware upgrade.

I have the same issue on google minis and google home.  Factory reset and creating new home and re-adding / reconfiguring did not resolve.

Hi HugoEther,

Are you the one who previously set up these Google Home speakers? Do you have household members in the Google Home app where these devices were set up? If yes, check on their Google Home app to see if the devices are still showing up in their home—remove them. Also, how did you do the factory reset? Did you hear Google Assistant confirming that the device is about to reset, followed by a chime?

Regards,
Alex

They were bought brand new and yes I was the one who had previously set them up.  Yes, I heard the factory reset warning and the chime.
