Google Nest Hub - Glitch / Try Again Issue

Lgyonker

My Google Nest Hun device was working normal all day and has just started replying “try again” or “glitch” every time I ask it a question or to do something. I have confirmed the internet is correct, unplugged it for an hour and plugged it back in, unsynced/resynced to my account, ensured IPv6 is off, and reset my wifi network all to no avail. I did a Speedtest and am running at ~700mbps so there isn’t any wifi issues but I’m still getting the same error.
The most frustrating thing I have noticed is that the hub loads all wifi content, I can see my thermostats activity/temp, all my Spotify playlists are loaded, YouTube suggestions are there but anytime I ask it to do anything I get a “try again”.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated as we use our Hub for a lot throughout the day.

I have the same issue on and off.  Everything was solid for years, then this last month it has been terrible.

Hello. I have a nest mini and since a few days, maybe a week, it started to say that there was a problem try again bla bla... BUT, at the third time in a row i ask or give a command it work just fine, AT THE THIRD sometimes second or fourth try. After some amount of time of inactivity i got the same issue, until the third try and it respond just fine, like nothing happened... until again the same... also tried every setup or reboot posible... does it work the same way ? The third try, or just doesn't respond at all?....

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for reaching out about the issues you're having with Google Assistant. Can you tell me if the same issue occurs when others speak to the speaker or display? Have you recently made any changes to your Wi-Fi network configuration? Does the light turn on when you say the hotword?

I also suggest you try these steps:

  • Make sure your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your speaker, display
  • Make sure your speaker or display is running the latest software version. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.
  • You can adjust how sensitive Google Assistant is to the wake word
  • Try using Google Assistant in a quieter environment to improve recognition.
  • Reboot your speaker or display by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
  • If none of these steps resolve the issue, please send us feedback. Your input is valuable and helps us improve our products.

 Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Yes - the issue occurs regardless of who speaks to the hub. We have not made any wifi or network changes and all other devices are working appropriately and on the same network. If I use the Google Home app to run automations the hub replies with the confirmation and all actions are carried out, it’s simply giving an error message when we ask it to do something regardless of if it’s a smart home task, asking the weather, or setting a timer.
Also, it will work for a day or two and then randomly have this issue for an unknown amount of time before returning to normal.
