Google Nest mini acknowledge radio station and states that it will play it through Tunein but then only silence. How do I fix it

I'm happy to hear that some of the stations are now working. Let's keep monitoring it as the team is still investigating due to the fact that there are other stations that can't be played. I'll keep updating this thread as soon as I have additional information to share.

Please do not forget to provide your location, radio station that you're having an issue with, and the type of Google Home/Nest device that you have. Sorry to hear that you're having issues listening to TuneIn using your Google Nest Mini. I'd love to dig deeper into this issue. A few questions: when did the issue start? Does it happen to all radio stations in TuneIn? Are you able to play music from other services like YouTube Music and Spotify? How far is your Nest Mini from the router?

Let's try these troubleshooting steps below:

1. Move your Google Nest Mini within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
2. Reboot your Google Nest Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Hi Jake, all has been working fine playing radio through the default RadioApp for the last two weeks or so, but only today it seems to be be back to its old tricks. The problem is evident when attempting to play radio stations from the Australian National Broadcaster (ABC)  from RadioApp - other stations, or asking to play the ABC from source like TuneIn seem to still be working OK. The mini responds to my request that it will play the station from RadioApp - then nothing. Best of luck in tracking the issue; obviously a tricking one ! I mainly see the problem on my Lenovo smart bedside clock, but the same issue exists on the other Google speakers in my home. Thanks for your help. - from Brisbane, Australia

I have been having the same issue in South Africa. My Mini is less than a meter away from the router and on the same network. I have tested another radio station and it does the same...just silence. I have also tested spotify and that works just fine. I have had this issue now probably for the last week.

I have the same issue on both Nest mini speakers for the last 3 days (in ireland). Streaming from Spotify & casting from radio app works but radio stations using TuneIn do not work.

Speakers have been powered off and then removed from Google Home and re-added with no change. Router has also been restarted multiple times.

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
3. Tap Settings > Device information.
4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX.

I have 2 Nest mini speakers, when checked this morning TuneIn was not streaming on either device.

I've checked both now (19:00 GMT) and the issue appears to be resolved with TuneIn radio stations now streaming on both devices. Current firmware versions shown below:

Cast Firmware for device 1 is: 1.56.299498

Cast Firmware for device 2 is: 1.54.279716

Very confusing thread but my input throws MORE confusion. My tune-in radio is working perfectly (as before) and I did none of the "fixes". It just started working properly again! Explanation?

So to add to the confusion, it STOPPED again this afternoon (after working again for 8 days)! What could possibly explain this? (I'm trying to listen to CBC radio 1 (CBLA FM or CBC radio 2 (CBL FM) or Jazz FM 91.1 FM) Very frustrating!

Hi Muddi, sorry if i had be rude... 😊 i'm just be amazed with al this problems and the not solutions here... 
More relate about happen: I put my radio (Itapema FM Florianópolis) on my mobile or laptop and works well, so when i transmit to nest mini or nest display, open tunein, play the sound tunein open with the logo and name my radio, and not play and crash close down.... so all is happen when to tray to play on device nest...

and now happen, to the nest choose a USA radio to play and works, i dont know why...

That's is ridiculus i',m areddy buy a nest display and nest mini, to listem a my Radios favorites in my bedroom (alarm with Radio, simple thing by old times) and listem in the kitchen to cooking (simple thing again) and when i looking for about this problem this exist from more then a year. Sorry, i love google, by everything to this suppose practice and connections, but this solutions basic is already pass the time to be ok!  Please let priority to "simple thing"

Sorry, still experiencing the issue. 

I'm from Hong Kong and the radio station I used to play is RTHK Radio 2. Stopped working since a few weeks ago up until today. Played the "TuneIn" tune and dead air. 

I also have a few Sonos at home but they work fine.

This has been going on for so long (months) and right across the world, (we're in Canada) I think that we are beyond rebooting devices. As for the distances, most of us had our devices working perfectly (for years in my case). Google NEEDS to find a solution.

I used to be able to pick up Radio 3RRR through my hub but now I can't. TuneIn is the radio device and I am in melbourne Australia
