Hi folks,
I'm happy to hear that some of the stations are now working. Let's keep monitoring it as the team is still investigating due to the fact that there are other stations that can't be played. I'll keep updating this thread as soon as I have additional information to share.
I marked my previous post as a "Solution" to pin my post on this thread so everyone can see it immediately without the need to scroll down just to see that our team is already investigating the issue.

Hey folks,
I'm checking in on this thread to see how many users are still having the same issue with TuneIn. Please do not forget to provide your location, radio station that you're having an issue with, and the type of Google Home/Nest device that you have. This information will be very helpful for the team to isolate the issue further.

I haven't been able to play CBC Radio One Toronto (CBLA-FM) or CityNews 680 Toronto for about a week or so. I've sent Feedback to Google via the Google Home android app on 4 different days. I just got off the phone with Google Home support. They say they are having a problem with TuneIn and are working on it. (I also have Amazon Alexa and both stations play on those devices) Hope this info helps in some way. (I'm in Canada)

yeah, well knowing Google and their bugfixing speed I wouldnt hold my breath haha. It's seems to be a worldwide problem by the way.
06-22-2022 12:16 PM
Caught in the fray too. Not happy. Read about my experience here in my post on Reddit:
Google Nest Assistant is ghosting CBC Digital Radio Streaming Services
Alexa seems to be the CBC's current streaming date.

Exactly my issue also.
06-23-2022 01:15 PM
I am having the exact same problem. Wonder what Google has changed? Annoying.
06-23-2022 06:43 PM
The impotence and empty, lack lustre responses from Google is deafening. I posted my 2 cents on Reddit and reached out to key CBC hosts who can no longer reach their followers like me, who use Google Home/Nest to access CBC Digital Streaming services. CBC is dating Alexa and ghosts Google Assistant
06-23-2022 07:53 PM
Totally understand! I have a house full of google but I won't hold on forever. I can't believe that this is beyond the scope of Google techs if the will is there. Call me trusting 😉 >
06-24-2022 12:23 AM
Problem is not solved despite of the 'solution' presented at the top of this thread. Just not true.
06-24-2022 06:38 AM
The fact is that the problem isn't universal. My daughter, who lives 45 minutes north, tells me that it's working for her today.
On a related note, for a Google pro: I wonder how to update my google home app to the latest version. (the search that I did revealed a process that involves finding the menu icon in the play store app. I don't have that icon on my android Galaxy Note)
06-24-2022 12:24 AM
I'm getting sick and tired of these ongoing tune in issues
06-25-2022 11:14 AM
Hear hear. And, suprise surprise, the leading commercial often plays flawless, followed by silence.
06-25-2022 04:23 PM
Hmmm, sorry to hear this. Let's have Google techs explain why it's working for some of us and not everyone! (CBCs (multiple) working north of Toronto, Canada)

I did absolutely nothing and waited like the rest, for the feed to come alive. CBC Radio One is now streaming on my Google devices here in Pickering Ontario Canada. The lobotomy on Google Assistant has been reversed. It took Google 3 weeks to resolve this problem with their digital technology partners TuneIn and CBC Radio One. I am keeping the Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) I ordered for my new friend, Alexa. I think it is wise to have a Plan B backup streaming solution ready when Google goes into multi-week technology fix mode. My digital streaming device vendor A, remains as Google. Vendor B is Amazon. For now.

I am north of Barrie, Ontario and I was able to get CBC this morning. Hope that it lasts but very happy that it is back.

TuneIn recently stopped working for a station that is listened to on a regular basis. I have rebooted several times, no success.
After much googling it appears that there are ongoing issues between TuneIn and Google.
Is there another radio player app that can be installed on the Nest Hub Max that is more reliable?
As a workaround, I can go to the radio station's web page and play it from there, however it times out and disconnects.
The current situation in untenable.

You were right to come here to air your issue. And correct that this has been going on for some time; on and off. But for some of us it seems to have been resolved. Mine in Ontario, Canada has been working perfectly for a week now. So it seems that once the techs can get a bead on the problem in specific areas, it gets fixed. FYI, I have a house full of Google devices and am reluctant to change platforms, so I'll keep my faith in Google; for now. Good luck.

Hey SGi,
We appreciate your feedback. Our team is aware that the issue is not fully fixed that's why we keep this thread open so we can also update users still having this issue.

It started working again this week. Fingers crossed it continues to work as expected. I am also in Ontario.

Still not working here in the netherlands. You need to at least ask three times for a station before it starts playing and stops responding with a 'something went wrong'
07-01-2022 04:13 PM
Hey realjax,
Thanks for that information. To confirm, is the issue isolated when listening to TuneIn Radio only? What Google Home/Nest device do you have?
Looking forward to your response.

Still not working on V1 Google hub in Vermont, USA. Cannot play any stations. Hub says station cannot be found or is not available now. But I can cast the station to my hub.

Hi folks on this thread from a damp regional Queensland. Just a heads-up that this on again - off again problem of the next not playing some radio stations features in a number of threads including Solved: Re: Radio App on Google Home will not play - Google Nest Community. It appears to me to be a global problem in the google world, and many report it stopping and working again a few days later with no action at the user end. Issue occurs when the device is asked to play only some stations, and I find the issue exists at various times whenever the device is asked to play the 'faulty' radio station from radioapp, tunein and even iheart sources. Oh well, we can only trust the google experts to find this intermittent problem, as it is with a very useful feature of the Nest, especially for those vision-impaired who rely on the radio .... 🤔 Google gurus - back to you ! It would be really helpful if you could interact with the community on a more trusting level, keeping us informed on what you have found, so that we can respond to your queries more meaningfully. There are many engineers, technicians, systems analysts and the like out here, and taking us into your confidence could mean we can provide you with more accurate, precise and meaningful feedback as you diagnose the problem ...

TuneIn has been very selective in its ability to broadcast to Google home for about 4, 5 weeks
It comes and goes with various access to radio stations globally directly to a Google home or Chromecast. In Ontario, access to various CBC stations has been terrible for at least 8 months and continues as described above.
My own particular request is radio New Zealand concert which also as described above Google home says is broadcasting, sends an advertisement and then goes quite for about 5 minutes followed by a loud crack on the speakers as something disconnects.
I can select station directly on TuneIn and cast through the Google set-up or directly from the selected speaker via cast option, but, I cannot cast directly from the TuneIn cast option
Hopefully, there are some clues Jim

My hub can't play anything from TuneIn.
I have a Good Morning routine that starts the radio. Everything worked fine for a while, then the song info stopped displaying, but the music continued. Then it stopped playing radio completely. For the last two days my Good Morning routine has started a Harry Styles video instead of just refusing to play the station.
The same voice commands work fine on a Lenovo clock. TuneIn comes right up. I can also cast TuneIn to the hub.
I have seen a new symptom three times in the last few days. No functions are available by touch on the screen. I can only swipe between the curated art and the clock. It still responds to voice. After a power cycle the touchscreen functions work again.
This has given me a very negative opinion of Google products. How is it that Lenovo can get it right, but Google can't? No need to respond, just a rhetorical question.

I also have he problem with a spanish radio station.

It was running properly till one month ago
very frustating this issue. Thanks in advance

My morning routine has an action for playing radio from TuneIn. This worked for a while, then TuneIn stopped playing anything, now I am consistently getting a Harry Styles video every morning instead of the TuneIn radio.
Last week it actually worked once. I was very surprised to see my desired radio station showing on the display instead of Harry Styles. I wanted to see if this was really fixed, so I stopped the music and tried the voice command again. No luck, the hub said it couldn't do that. Next morning it's back to the Harry Styles video.
The same commands work fine on a Lenovo clock. I can even ask the clock to play TuneIn on the hub and it works correctly. Google really needs to fix their product. This has been happening for months and there are plenty of users that have reported detailed information on the subject.
