Invalid phone number when trying to set up Google meet from the Google home app

I get the message ”Invalid phone number” when trying to set up Google meet from the Google home app, for Google nest mini (gen2).
Have selected +46 for Sweden and then my mobile number but it asks me to try another number. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. Kindly try to uninstall and reinstall the Google Meet app on your phone, and then add your phone number. Let me know if it works.

I have now uninstalled google meet and the icon disappeared from my display but when I went into settings it was still there under apps. It had version number 0.1 and there was no option to uninstall. I looked up a new one from "play store" but it marked "update" instead of "install" so I did that. Unfortunately the problem remains that when I enter my mobile number I get the message "Wrong number of digits or area code missing. Try again"
How do I solve this problem?

It seems like an issue with Google Meet itself. I’ve seen a few similar posts about this in the Google Meet community, and one of the posts is this one, where the product expert mentioned that the team is aware of the issue. I suggest that you post your concern in the Google Meet community so you can check for an update regarding the issue.
