Nest Mini playing a different artist’s music

I can’t make my nest mini to play the correct artist’s song via spotify anymore unless I manually connect via bluetooth. I always just say “hey google, play bts”, and it’ll play bts (the kpop group) songs. Now every time I say the same phrase, it’ll play another artist which is also named bts on spotify. I already blocked the wrong artist on spotify and nest mini will just respond with “something went wrong, when you’re ready give it another try”. How can I make it play the correct artist’s song without having to manually connect via bluetooth? Sometimes I don’t have my phone with me and it’s just convenient to just say the phrase to the device (w/c is what it’s meant to do).

Hi taettokkii,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s further look into it. Are you getting the same behavior from any artists you asked for?

Try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Open the Google Home app > Settings > Music > Choose “No default provider.”
  • Unlink your Spotify account > Force close the Google Home app.
  • Unplug and plug back in your Google Nest Mini device from the power outlet for a minute.
  • Open the Google Home app and link your Spotify account again.
  • Command your Google Nest Mini to play BTS.

Regards,
Alex
