Nest does not complete phone calls

Ljt2

I’m unable to make calls from my nest hub. I can say “hey Google, call David”, and it will show the screen where it looks like it is calling David, with the correct phone number, but then immediately hangs up.

I am able to do this voice command with other Google devices, it’s just my hub that won’t complete the calls.

Hi Ljt2,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Sorry to hear about this experience. Let's go ahead and figure what happened by answering these questions:

  • Have you tried making phone calls using your Google Nest Hub before? Does it work well?
  • Does it only happen when you try calling a specific contact? How about other contact saved on your Google account?

Below are some of the things you can say to make calls:

Say "Hey Google," then:

  • "Call [business name]."
  • "Where is the nearest [business]?" then "Hey Google, call them."
  • "Call [phone number]."
  • "Redial."
  • "Call [contact name]."
  • "Video call [contact]."
  • "Call [display or speaker name]."

The availability of commands will vary depending on the calling methods set up on your device. For example, if you’ve set up Duo calling and turned on personal results, you’ll be able to say "Video call [contact]" to make video calls. On displays, touch controls are also available when you set up household contacts. Learn more about how to set up and make calls with Duo calling, Google-supported calling, and carrier calling.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess
