Shopping List items being split.

Bod
Community Member

Hi,

Recently I've noticed that the shopping list is splitting single items into two when adding via a voice command.

For example, asking it to add "granulated sugar" adds two entries, one for granulated and a second for sugar.  Same with other items such as decaf coffee etc.

Something has definitely changed. Can anybody else replicate this?

Hi Bod,

Thanks for bringing this up.

Could you tell us when did you notice these changes? Also, what are the items that you are trying to add on the list so we can further check here if it's giving the same results from our end.

Lastly, have you tried any troubleshooting steps so far?

Best,

Princess

Hi, I first noticed this about 3 weeks ago.  Please see my original post for 2 examples.

I'm not sure what troubleshooting steps could possibly change the behaviour.  It's clearly a bug.

Hi Bod,

How about performing a complete reset? Have you already tried that?

Also, could you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Nest speakers?

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

Looking forward to your response.

Princess
