Speaker groups not recognised by voice commands or automations

If I create a Stereo Pair or a Speaker Group I can cast to it using the cast controls/button but I can't use Voice Commands or Automations to access the Pair or Group.

For example: "Play (radio station) on Speaker Pair" does nothing

but

"Play (radio station) on Individual Speaker" works perfectly.

I have reset the speakers and deleted and re-created the Home multiple times and it simply doesn't work.

Hi PsychicSquirrel,

Thanks for reaching out. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. What Nest speakers or display do you own? What is the exact message that you are getting when you try it via voice command? Check if your Google Assistant recognized your command. See the steps below:

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. At the top right, tap your account.
  3. Tap My Activity .

Regards,

Hi and thanks for the response

Nest Audio x 2

This appears to have resolved itself. When you create a speaker pair or group there appears to be a significant time delay before Google Home/Assistant can control the new "device". Several hours delay.

For reference. Before the speaker pair/group is recognised typed or voice commands simply do nothing. There is no response or error. It's like the assistant thinks it has completed its task successfully.
