Hello shai_za,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know the feeling when you're having issues playing music on your Google Home Mini. Let's try to get to the bottom of this.

A few questions:

  • When did the issue start?
  • How far is your Home Mini from your router?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Move your Home Mini within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your Home Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Muddi,

I have 2 mini's in my house 1  mini is basically next to the router and the other about 5m away.

As previously mentioned i did not have this issue before and it started around a month ago.

I have done what you have mentioned but i am still experiencing this issue.

Hello there,

Thanks for the additional info you've shared.

Could you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Nest speaker?

Check the firmware version of your speaker or display

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"

Check the version on your Nest display

  1.  Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings and then About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
    • For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Princess

Hey shai_za,

Thanks for the additional info. Have you already checked other music provider to see if you're also experiencing the same thing? I know that you've already performed a reset on your Google Nest Mini, however, it's best to try to unlink and relink your Spotify account before performing a complete reset.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess

Hey there,

To further isolate the issue, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home Mini).

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi

It seems like you've tried several troubleshooting steps to address the issue of your Google Mini stopping Spotify playback after a few seconds, but the problem persists. To narrow down the cause, make sure your Google Mini is running the latest firmware, and check if any recent updates or changes in your network settings might be affecting the connection. Additionally, ensure your Spotify app is up-to-date. As for the mention of Spotify premium mod for PC Windows 11, it's important to note that using unofficial or modified versions of Spotify may lead to playback issues and is against Spotify's terms of service. Stick to the official Spotify app for the best and most reliable experience.
