Weather App missing

Each day or two I check the weather (usually the weather app is the first icon when I swipe up on my Google Nest Hub). The past few days I've noticed that app is missing on all 3 of my Next Hubs. I went to All Apps to see if somehow I can find it there, but it's missing entirely. I'm not sure why it disappeared. If I ask Google Assistant to hear about the weather it performs as expected, but when it's early in the morning I just want to silently click on that app to get the day's weather and not wake my spouse up.  I tried rebooting all 3 and same issue.

In addition, is there a way to order that top group of apps so my favorites are there?

We're sorry to hear about this experience and we want to help you out fixing this. Could you please provide us a photo of the exact display you're getting every time you try to access the apps on your Google Nest display? Also, after noticing this, have you already tried performing a complete reset to see if this would make any changes on its display?

Thanks Princess - I did a factory reset on one of them to check and see and the Weather app still isn't showing. Here is a photo of all my apps.

Thanks for the info you've shared. Could you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Nest speakers?

 

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"

Hi Princess - sorry for the delay - the Cast firmware is 1.56.324896. I'm not sure I understand Fuchsia with the device.

So oddly enough the Weather app is back on all of my devices. I'm not really sure what happened, but happy to have them back.

Side question: Is there a way to get new apps on here? Like I use the library app "Libby" and I can get audiobooks on that app so it would be nice to listen to an audiobook when I'm getting ready in the morning.

Awesome — glad to hear that your issue is fixed. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

 

About your question, you can listen to audiobooks from Google Play Books on your Google Nest and Google Home speakers and displays. Purchasing audiobooks and playing samples is not available on Google Nest and Google Home devices. It works in these countries: US, UK, Australia, Canada, India, Singapore and only works under the English language. French-Canadian is not included. it would be best to check out this guide about audiobooks for you to gain the right information. Don't forget to choose the device you will be using to get the correct steps.

 

DrazilGod, is the weather app on your Nest Hub now available?  If not yet, kindly do a sequential reboot to refresh the link of your devices.

 

  • Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers. 
  • Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. 
  • Restarting your phone might also help.
