google home not showing new photos

I deleted a lot of photos from the google website, so they wouldn't be deleted from my iPhone photos.  Google says I only have 3.2GB if account storage used of the 15GB allowed..  Before I deleted the photos, I was almost at 15.

But when I go into google photos, it states that "this device has 94% used space" and the Google home will not show photos past Oct 2022.

Google photos wants me to clear up space by deleting 5,000 (on my phone).  If I delete google photos on my iPhone, will it delete apple photos as well?

I was guided how to do it on my mac, as not to delete them from my photos app.  But now, I'm not sure what to do.
