"There was a glitch. Try again in a few seconds." Works a few seconds later. Issue reoccurs.

Virtually every time I use one of my Google Home devices to access Google Assistant, to operate a smart connected device, for example, I get the response "There was a glitch. Try again in a few seconds." It works a few seconds later, only for the same issue reoccurring again almost every time I use it.

Other devices don't have the issue.

I've reset the device.

I've read other response[s] [https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/quot-There-was-a-glitch-quot-on-first-t...] to the same issue, with the solution being "disabling IPv6 on router", but I went to the advanced settings on my router and IPv6 wasn't enabled.

I'm completely fed up with it and ready to smash the thing.

Hi killermouse1974,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you're having issues using Google Assistant.

I suggest you follow these steps:

  • Please make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  • Make sure that your device recognizes the hotword. Say 'Hey Google' to your speaker or display. Check if the LED dots on the top of your device spin or blink, indicating that it recognized the hotword.
  • If your speaker or display often has trouble activating when you say 'Hey Google', you can adjust how sensitive Google Assistant is to 'Hey Google'.
  • Restart your device by disconnecting the power cable and then reconnecting.

Let me know if this information helps.

Cheers,

Jonathan
