1st gen chromecast

Hi,

I have gotten a new wifi and am trying to set up my 1st gen chromecast to work again. The google home app will not find the chromecast with bluetooth despite having a secure wifi network on my phone. I have tried turning everything on and off again many times, including the wifi, and it still won't work. The LED light on the chromecast is flashing the correct colours (white) to mean it is ready to set up, but nothing is working. I have have also unconnected from the previous wifi on the app and in an attempt to set up the chromecast, deleted the one on the app saying offline incase that was confusing something,

Please help!

Thank you

Flashing white seems right:

Have you tried to factory reset first, then set it up?

I don't work for Google.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, olavrb and Jeran. I appreciate it.

poppyb80, how's it going? Does the reset resolve the issue? If you're still having trouble connecting your Chromecast to your new network, please try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.

Regards,

Jennifer
