Basically, I setup my chromecast and when I tried casting from Chrome to my TV with it, Chrome will not detect the TV as a device. It doesn't detect any device, in fact. We tried every device in the house that could install Home or Chrome browser and they all can detect and cast to the TV but for some reason my laptop won't. It's a Lenovo Ideapad 3 if that matters at all.

I'm under the impression there's some sort of setting going on in my laptop that's preventing it.

Hey there BobJuruncle,
I would be happy to help you look into this connection issue since I know these problems can be tricky to troubleshoot on your own. Let me just ask you, does your laptop run Windows 10/11? If so, I would make sure there are no VPNs or Anti-Virus software that may be blocking the connection. Afterwards, I would check your Network discovery settings in windows to make sure they are turned on for your Private Wi-Fi network. It would be under Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Change advanced sharing options > Private > Network discovery > Turn on network discovery.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
