The problem is the content on my Google TV Home, i.e. the app thumbnails e.g. Youtube, Netflix, Prime, etc., are not being updated. It's been a while (a month to be precise), and the thumbnail images have remained stagnant.
Ideally, they should update after some time, right?
Somebody, please let me know if there's something I need to click on/enable or anything else I'm not doing right.
Thanks

Hey there hfsaidi,
I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to get those thumbnails updated? If not, I'd be happy to help you out. First, check for any updates to the Chromecast's firmware. Then, go ahead and clear out the cached app data on the affected apps. Finally, go ahead and restart the Chromecast to clear out the Chromecast's memory.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

The issue hasn't been resolved.
I have a TCL 4K Google TV with Chromecast built-in. The app thumbnails just wouldn't update. Although I have cleared the cache. Please help.

Hi hfsaidi.
Thanks for trying that and I’m sorry that you are still experiencing the issue. Could you please provide me with the firmware version of your built-in Chromecast? Check the steps below on how to see it.
Thanks,
Juni

Sorry for the late response.
The problem still persists. Thing is, it's a built-in Chromecast on my Google TV (TCL LED TV). I have cleared the cache, etc. but the thumbnails still don't seem to update.

Hey there hfsaidi,
No problem at all! In this case, would you be able to factory reset your TV? Afterwards, go ahead and set it back up again to see if the problem persists.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hello Jeran,
I just didn't want it to end on this 😞
I think I'll go without the factory reset option. Guess I'll live with it.
Thanks for your help though.

Hey there hfsaidi,
No problem at all! That is totally understandable, I wouldn't want to do the same if I had the device set up the way I liked it. With it being a Chromecast built-in, a future update to the TV's firmware may fix the issue, so fingers crossed. In the meantime, if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to address them. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.
Best regards,
Jeran
