CCwGTv can't use bluetooth audio receiver after pairing

Hello!

I have strange problem. My configuration is:
Dell S560T projector, CCwGTv (white 4K version - STTE220621.019.A2.9082754), Rod Rain Audio 9038 bluetooth receiver (it uses Qualcomm QCC5125 bluetooth chipset (BT5.1 compatible), ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M digital to analog converter, and some JRC5532DD amplifier), and some KRK audio monitors. Distance between chromecast device and bluetooth receiver is like one meter, but that shouldn't be problem.

I was using this receiver with few devices already without problems (few Dell and Lenovo laptops, and few smartphones like Samsung, Xiaomi, Doogee). CCwGTv is the only one that do not want to work.

The device is detected in paring mode, and paring is going fine, but in the end there is message that it's disconnected. After restarting devices (both of them) - the device is still on the list as paired, but when i choose to connect it says disconnected right after.

Tommorow i will try with bluetooth speakers from JBL to test if it's not Chromecast hardware failure, but i've got question:

Is there any way to debug the problem somehow? Or at least enable and see some logs of connection?
Was any bluetooth device with this chipset testes on how will it work with Chromecast?

Thank You for any help.

UPDATE (at 19.11.2022):

So i've tried to connect different Bluetooth receiver and it worked (JBL Charger 3), so there must be some problem between Chromecast White and this device (that is running on QCC5125 chipset, and is working fine with many other devices).

I made some photos of what is going on:
Distance between devices:

Searching device and pairing button:
gchw4k-problem-searching-device-01.jpggchw4k-problem-searching-device-02.jpg
Pairing and connecting device:
gchw4k-problem-pairing-device-03.jpggchw4k-problem-connecting-device-04.jpg

Pairing unsuccesful message but chromecast added device to paired devices list:
gchw4k-problem-pairing-unsuccesful-05.jpggchw4k-problem-appeared-on-list-06.jpg

Device menu, and selecting connect, disconnected device information on the bottom (little cloud showing multiple times):
gchw4k-problem-device-menu-07.jpggchw4k-problem-trying-connect-08.jpggchw4k-problem-disconnected-multiple-times-09.jpg

And that's all. I was trying to enable "Device Reports" in Google Home app for Chromecast, but there was no such option there (according to some instructions made by google there should be).

If anyone got any suggestions, please help.

Hello Nicram,

Thanks for reaching out to the Chromecast Community forum! Let's sort this out.

Have you tried connecting it via Bluetooth using your JBL speakers? If yes, how was it? If you're still having trouble, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect other Bluetooth devices. [Note: You can only connect one audio device at a time].
  2. Reboot your Bluetooth devices and Chromecast with Google TV (4K) again.
  3. Plug in your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) on a different HDMI port.
  4. Reset your Chromecast with Google TV (4K).

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hello @JenniferV ! Thank You for earlier reply!
I couldn't reply because i'm out for work far away from home now, but i'll answer Your questions:

The Rod Rain Audio i was trying to connect was directly connection to the Chromecast by bluetooth, no other devices was involved in that. The JBL i used only to test, if bluetooth is working properly inside Chromecast and it did - JBL speaker was working fine. There is no way i could connect Rod Rain Audio by bluetooth with JBL, and then connect JBL with Chromecast by BT- JBL do not allow that.

Ad. 1 - Rod Rain Audio was the only device i was trying to connect.
Ad. 2 - I was rebooting both devices together (even disconnecting from power supply to be sure).
Ad. 3 - This i didn't tried yet, i will when i'll be back, but i'm not sure if HDMI port got anything to do with Bluetooth connections (i don't think so).
Ad. 4 - I was trying resetting but it also didn't help.

To summarize:
Rod Rain Audio (with QCC5125 chipset) can't connect to Chromecast (Chromecast sending audio by bluetooth to Rod Rain Audio BT Receiver).
Rod Rain Audio connecting fine as receiver for other devices like Samsung, Xiaomi, Doogee smartphones, few laptops (Dell, Lenovo, Asus).

I would like to know, is there any way to diagnose more? Get some debug informations, logs, or anything like that to investigate it?

Hey Nicram,

Thanks for getting back to us with an update. I'm afraid we don't have logs or debug information about this. You may try the step 3 and let me know how it goes.

Also, if it does work with your JBL speaker and the issue is isolated when using your Rod Rain Audio, I'd suggest you reach out to your audio receiver manufacturer for additional help.

Thanks,

Jennifer
