Got a new router and have reconnected all my devices except for Chromecast on my tv. It kept reading the old network so I did a reset on dongle. However it still won't recognize new network. The Home app told me to download Device Utility app but I still can't get new network to be recognized. I think I have generation 1 as it is at least 5yrs old. What can I do to make connection to new network?

Hi Baglady,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you are having an issue connecting your Chromecast to your new network. Let’s check on this further.
A few questions — what’s the LED light status in your Chromecast? Are you getting any messages when connecting it to your network? What mobile phone are you using during setup? Please manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone’s settings > Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
Please also follow the steps below when using the Device Utility app:
1. Launch Device Utility and then turn off WiFi as it says.
2. Let it find the inactivated device.
3. While it’s searching for the device, go back to the WiFi settings and manually turn the WiFi back on.
4. Go back to Device Utility and hit activate once it finds the device then proceed with the set up.
If the same issue persists, please try to use a different device like an iOS phone.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer
