Can't mirror phone to google chromecast

CallMeBeefcake

For some reason I can't screen mirror my phone to the google chromecast. I had a friend come over and I tried it from her phone and it worked fine. I also have a Samsung tablet and I tried it from that and it worked fine too but for some reason when I hit cast on my s22 ultra nothing at all happens. I am on the same wifi network, google play services does have microphone permission, there is no battery saver type of thing on, I believe all settings are how they should be but I can't figure out what the problem is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there CallMeBeefcake,

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! It's good that you were able to narrow down the problem to your s22, so I'd be happy to help you figure this out. Go ahead and check some other settings:

For devices with Android 11 or 12

When Use network information is off in your Android settings, Google Nest and Home speakers or displays (and Chromecast) might not appear on the list of available Cast devices.

To discover Cast-enabled devices, open your mobile device's Settings and then enable Use network information On and then Continue.

If you encounter any specific error messages or codes, I'd be happy to address those.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
