Can't open Chromecast Remote

I just purchased a Chromecast unit today. I'll be returning it tomorrow because I can't open the remote. I applied a considerable amount of force and still couldn't open the remote to install batteries. My thumb is now aching. Didn't someone at Google test this product for ease of use? I challenge someone at Google to demonstrate how "easy" it is to open the remote. I decided not to purchase a Google phone for my family and myself. Hahaha!!! Go job Google!!!

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. You may need to apply a little pressure downward as you slide it out. There’s like a rounded spot where you can place your thumb to press before sliding the cover out.
