Cast media control notifications on android are Not displaying stop option

After the last update, Cast media control notifications on android are Not displaying stop option anymore. Only pause and play. Very enjoying not to be able to stop chromcasting from media control notifications directly. Need to open Home app to stop casting from your TV screen. Is there a way to fix this?

Did you try a reboot of your mobile and the Chromecast Ultra already? 🙂

I did indeed. 

Tried everything that is possible. 

Both devices were restarted. Cleared cache and cookies. 

The option Stop is not there unfortunately.

lidotaijs, I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing the same issue, but thanks for doing some steps beforehand. May I know what is the make and model of your mobile phone? Please make sure your mobile phone is running on Android 6.0 and above. Also, try to use a different mobile phone to isolate the issue.

 

If the issue persists, do a reset on your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

The phone is Galaxy s21 ultra. 

All this has been done already. And not once but several times. 

The issue is still there.

Hello lidotaijs,

 

Understood. Could you please try to disable and enable the Media controls for cast devices, then reboot your phone again? See the steps below:

 

  1. On the phone, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Google > Device connections > Cast media controls.
  3. Disable Media controls for Cast devices.
  4. To turn notifications back on, enable Media controls for Cast devices.
