Chromecast intermittent connection

Hi,

Just got new Chromecast with Google TV today. I am casting my android phone to smart TV and watching movie. Casting work for few min then TV screen freeze, voice still coming fine.

I have to stop casting and start again after every 5-7 min. I have used Google home casting, tried uninstall Google home then used android default casting. Restarted android phone, Chromecast multiple times. Still same. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi DevN,

Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.

A few questions: how close are the devices to each other? What mobile phone are you using for casting? Is this only happening in one app or across all apps?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Disconnect from Chromecast, then recast.
  2. On the casting device, toggle Wi-Fi off and then on.
  3. Close any resource intensive apps that are open.
  4. Check if your mobile device has a power saving setting. If it's enabled, disable it.
  5. Decrease the distance between the TV, casting device (phone, tablet, or computer), and Wi-Fi router.
  6. Make sure that the casting device meets the minimum system requirements to support casting.
  7. Make sure that the mobile device OS and Chromecast software are updated.
  8. Reboot your Chromecast again.
  9. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  10. Perform a factory reset.

Thanks,

Jennifer
