I not long swapped by chromecast for a chromecast with Google TV (the white one with the remote) but suddenly when i turn on the TV it plays a high pitched whining sound that plays over movies as well. The louder I turn the TV up the louder the beep is. If I have the TV volume on zero than you can't hear it but i also can't hear the movies. How do I fix this?

Hey there CrazyGeko,
I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that audio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I can imagine this makes for a horrible viewing experience. The first thing I would do is make sure the Chromecast's firmware is up-to-date. Then, I would change the HDMI port that the Chromecast is plugged into, to see if the issue persists. Finally, if you are able to, see if the same problem occurs when you plug the Chromecast into a different TV. That way, we can isolate the issue to either the Chromecast or the TV.
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

I unfortunately don't have another TV to test it out on but I did try other hdmi ports and it did the same thing. After turning the TV off for a few hours than back on the beeping sound wasn't happening for a while. After asking some tech people in my town they said my TV was starting to break down which I guess is understandable since it's nearly 10 years old so I've bought a new one and am now waiting for it to arrive.

Hey there CrazyGeko,
With a TV being nearly 10 years old, that may be the culprit. Did you want me to leave this thread open, so you can test the Chromecast on your new TV, then let us know if the problem persists?
Best regards,
Jeran
