My Chromecast is connected to the HDMI input from my home theater. When I select this input Chromecast is not working. Only if I reboot (pull power supply and reconnect) it starts up. How can i avoid this?
Should I connect the USB to a port in the tv, so when it switches on it gets power, or is there a way to have it always on, even with no HDMI signal?
Please advise

I connected the powercable to the USB port of my tv and now the Chromecast starts up when i power on my home theater and tv. This didn't happen when it was connected to my power outlet.

Same problem here with my old toshiba TV. When both powered up the same time the cchd got no signal. When rebooting cchd or reattached only hdmi connection I got a signal. Strange. Now I power up the cchd when the tv is already on with no signal on hdmi4. anoying.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out. What's the LED status on your Chromecast? Please plug in the Chromecast directly to the HDMI port on your TV and check if the same issue persists. Resetting your Chromecast might also help.

Jennifer

Hi dirkberlin,

I think I solved it. I programmed the remote for my Toshiba. With hdmi cic it came to a conflict. I turn it on, and the TV turn it off again. Removed the TV power key and switched to chrome cast power only with no cic support
