Chromecast w/Google TV (3rd gen)

After we "cut the cord" and purchased a Chromecast with Google TV for each television, is the use going to be discontinued? Like so many other Google services that have been 'sunset', will this also join them in the graveyard?

Google has not many any announcements to that effect.
