Hi all,
I recently purchased a Google Chromecast with Google TV. I am not able to connect my Wi-Fi to the device. Even though the Wi-Fi works well, it shows Wi-Fi not available.
Please give me Soloutions for this.

Hi ,
The problem it seems is the distance from the router to the Chromecast , which was about 15 feet. I procured a Netgear Wifi extender and installed it nearer to Chromecast.
Now it is working properly. I am able to connect to the Chromecast.
Thanks for all the support.

Hi Sureshmani,
Thanks for reaching out. Let's check on this further.
Quick question: what's the LED light status in your Chromecast with Google TV? Please try the steps below:
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,

Hi Jennifer , thanks for your message.
The LED light is white.
I have checked that the Chromecast device is on the same network.
The chrome cast device is in the adjacent room to where the WIFi router is. Can that be an issue ?
The other devices connect to this WiFi , I am able to create hotspot.
It has only 2.4 ghz. I have reset the chrome cast device twice. Once I set it up ,it connects. But if I switch off the power and connect it again , it refuses to get connected.
I haven’t tried uninstalling Google home app.
Thanks , let me know if something else comes up after reading my message.

Hey there,
Thanks for getting back to us. Could you please confirm if you were able to connect your Chromecast when using a hotspot? Is the distance of the router and Chromecast beyond 15-20 feet? Please also try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: Go to the phone Settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
I was able to connect Chromecast to my Iphone hotspot. The distance is approximately 15 -16 feet from the router.
The other two I havent tried yet. I will update after trying it.
Thanks,
Suresh

It looks like a defect was introduced in this latest firmware that prevents the device from connecting to 5GHz channels in the upper range (i.e. ch 100-165). Whereas if you can configure your router to a lower end 5GHz channel (i.e. 36-48), the Chromecast will connect.
