So I previously purchased a Chromecast with Google TV about a year ago. The chromecast was plugged into the HDMI port of a projector along with a Vizio soundbar. When I first set everything up I was able to put the volume control of the google TV remote to the Vizio soundbar and had no issues. After several months, I began running into an issue where the volume control on the google TV remote stopped controlling the soundbar and the light on the remote would start to flash instead of changing the volume. At this point, the remote would no longer respond to any of the buttons. After a few seconds, it would start to respond again to the other buttons, but the volume rocker would stay unpaired. In more extreme cases, I'd occasionally run into the issue where the remote would simply refuse to navigate on the home page, but would function within the various apps. To try and fix this I would have to use the android TV app on my phone to pair with the chromecast, forget the remote, then re-pair the remote with the chromecast. This was super frustrating of course, but manageable. After owning the chromecast for about a year, I finally hit a point where I'd be going through a constant cycle of having the remote work for a few minutes then it would unpair itself entirely and I'd have to reset it. I figured that perhaps after having been dropped a few times, the remote had gotten a bit off and just needed to be replaced.
I decided at this point to simply buy an entirely new chromecast with google TV because why not? I've now had the new product for only a few weeks and I'm having the exact same issues. I've completely babied the remote, so I know it hasn't been damaged. At this point I'm considering the entire product to be not worth the parts, which is super frustrating because other than the remote issues I really love the design and setup.

Hey there ooma18,
I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that radio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
When did this issue start happening?
Are you using IR or HDMI-CEC?
What is the firmware version on your Chromecast with Google TV?
What is color is the LED on the remote when this happens?
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
