I've been using Chromecast with Google TV for 2 years (I have for each of my 3 TVs). Recently one of the Chromecast devices started having trouble connecting to my WiFi network. I tried rebooting the Chromecast as well as my network, and I also tried connecting to a different WiFi network (and all of my other Chromecasts, computers, phones, etc. work with both networks). Previously if I just waited a few hours when the problem happened, it would eventually be able to connect to the network. But starting yesterday it will no longer connect at all. I also tried factory resetting the Chromecast. Nothing helped.
Given how the problem got worse and I can no longer connect, I suspect the NIC on the device has simply failed. Is there anything else I can/should try, or do I just need to give up and buy a new device?
FYI this particular Chromecast was purchased in March 2021, so it's beyond the 90 day warranty.
Thanks.

Hey there mfschwartz,
I'm sorry to hear that your Chromecast is having some difficulties with connecting! Networking issues can be tricky to troubleshoot, so I'd be happy to help out. In this case, the first thing I would check when this occurs is the status of the LED light on the Chromecast itself. This can throw an error, and allow you to see what you'd need to troubleshoot. What color is the LED light, and what is the light doing?
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
