I just had to change from Google Fiber TV to a streaming platform using Google Chromecast with Google TV up to a 4K TV. As soon as I tried to install Chromecast, I started having issues after installing into HDMI on my 2008 Samsung Series 650 1080P HD TV. During the setup the picture would drop out to a black screen and then return to the setup screen. I was fought through the entire setup with the screen dropout as well rare times when the picture would go to fine horizontal lines and makes an annoying scratching sound. It continued to do these issues after setup, viewing the Chromecast screen, even during playback on YouTube TV.
My question or concern is whether the Chromecast with Google TV is too much or not compatible with my old 1080P Samsung TV?

Hi KCJim,
Thanks for reaching out. Let's sort this out.
Quick question — what's the LED light status in your Chromecast with Google TV? Please try to turn off your TV completely and unplug the Chromecast from the power outlet and the HDMI port on your TV. Also, trying on a different HDMI port and different TV (If possible) and resetting your Chromecast might also help.
If the issue still persists or it works on a different TV, you may reach out to your TV manufacturer for additional help.
Thanks,
Jennifer
