D+, HBO Max, Peacock won't play

Hello, I have a strange problem with Chromecast with Google TV 4K, Disney+, HBO Max and Peacock are not working. At the same time, YouTube and Netflix have no problems, they work normally. I reinstalled the apps, did a factory reset on Chromecast and the problem remains. Does anyone have an idea what to do?

We're having very similar issues, not sure what else to try either. Following this and will let you know if we find anything!

Hey folks,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. A few questions: when did it start happening? Did you make any changes to your Chromecast settings? Are you getting any error messages while playing those apps? To isolate this, could you try casting them using your phone to see if it happens as well?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Archie

Hello,

For me, this problem appeared as soon as I logged into my Disney Plus account. I am able to browse a library of movies, but after pressing the play button on the selected movie, it won't start. I haven't changed anything in Chromecast settings. An error message only shows me Disney+ saying to contact them. HBO, Peacock just doesn't play movies. I have another Chromecast with Google TV 4K, I have no problems with it at all. Otherwise, when I cast the same services from the phone, I have no problems, the movies play.

Update

After a long investigation where the problem is with streaming certain services, I found that the problem is in

Settings

Display & Sound

Advanced sound settings

Automatic: Enable

When this is checked I have a problem streaming but when I have checked

None: Never use surround sound

or

Manual:

and check only Dolby Digital, everything is fine.

I forgot to add an important detail about the problem. When the bluetooth headphones are connected to Chromecast, this problem appears, if it is through the speakers of the TV, there are no problems with any settings.

Aatienza,

can you please forward this issue to the Chromecast developers?

Thank you!
