Hi,
I would like to connect my home LAN DLNA server with any client on chromecast with google TV to have multichannel sound. Right now I use VLC to connect my Uniwersal Media Server and sound is stereo only, even if the file is DD 5.1 for instance.
Direct contact would help if anybody has a solution. Let me know...

Anyone? No experience within community at all?

Hi robus_pl,
Thanks for posting. We only recommend using supported video streaming apps and basic casting for Chromecast devices. You may try to use third party apps, but we can't guarantee that it will work as it still depends on the app. You may try to search online or look for videos from YouTube that may have offered the same setup that you want.
Thanks,
Jennifer

What I observe is taht KODI seems to be better solution to work with DLNA server. VLC may not support multichannel sound. KODI however is "heavy" app and needs some storage space while chromecast memoy is limited.
I would need to use the HUB to expand the space for some more apps or data.
How To Expand Storage on Chromecast with Google TV - GChromecast Hub (googlechromecast.com)
Anyway I am aware, that the less apps installed the better for chromecast performance... 🙂

In fact I didn't receive any reccomendation. In fact I have ansvered myself. Strange.
One question? Why do you close threads in a way that nobody can join the topic anytime later? Sometime in the future... Can you change the way you manage this Nest?
