So I’m staying in a hotel and all I have is my phone, so I went and bought a Google chromecast! It wont connect to the hotels wifi so I followed the steps tried to connect to my hotspot that doesn’t work. Can someone please tell me if there’s anything else I can do because I’m about to just got return it

Looks like I’m in the same boat. Google should put a NO HOTEL warning on the box.

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out. Some hotels require customers to connect to the network via a captive portal, and this type of network is currently not supported by Chromecast.
You can attempt to set up your Chromecast device using a captive portal if you are able to add the MAC address directly to the router. In most cases, you will need permission from the network administrator. However, please take note that this workaround may or may not work.
Also, mobile hotspots aren't a recommended network type for Chromecast devices, as they prove unstable and finicky. Others have had success with mobile hotspots using two devices, one to host the hotspot, and another device for casting, but it varies from device to device.
You can also check this thread to see the recommendations from our Product Experts.
