When batteries are inserted, light starts pulsating. Can't switch it off. Can't use the remote. Have tried the various suggested solutions , but no success.

Hi Pat49,
Please press and hold the Back and Home buttons on the remote for 3 seconds and follow the instructions on-screen to re-pair your remote.

Hi Cathal
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, I have tried that with no success. The remote does not cause the Google TV screen to open. I have opened it using my phone as a remote, but no instructions come up. Nothing so far has had any effect on the Google TV remote. I've pressed the small button on the Chromecast itself, but after a while a message appeared saying that the remote was paired. But it is still frozen. The only way to stop the light pulsing is to remove the batteries.
Regards
Pat49

I'm having the same exact problem and don't want to use the remote on my phone because this is on my son's TV in his room.
Nothing else seems to work from the community suggestions so I guess I have to buy a new device! 😐

I'm having the same issue the remote will not stop pulsing and it only stops when the batteries are removed.

Hi there Drock131,
Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the Voice Remote.
Have you tried replacing the batteries in your Chromecast Voice Remote? If you haven't yet, please try that and make sure you'll replace all batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries and do not use lithium-ion or any other batteries with rated voltage above 1.5 V. Also, do a factory reset on your Voice Remote and Chromecast device, then observe the behavior.
Thanks,
Jennifer
