Holding the back button on the chromecast remote should bring you back to the main menu of the app

It's annoying sometimes having to constantly press the back button to get to the main screen of YouTube TV. I think there should be a feature that brings you all the way back to the main/home screen of apps by holding the back button, eliminating the need to press the button multiple times.

Hi cobra872,

You can use the 'Home' button to return to the home screen. Have a look at the Chromecast help center link below for more information about the remote buttons.

What I mean is, the main screen or main menu of the app that you are using.

For example, YouTube TV or Netflix. If I were to navigate my favorite shows, I need to keep pressing the back button to get all the way back to the main menu of the app. It would be much easier by implementing a feature that allows you to go back to the main screen or main menu of the app by holding the back button.

Hi again,

This would be something that you would need to request Google add as a feature. Then it would also be up to the developers of other apps to implement in their apps.

You can find instructions on how to send feedback or feature requests to the Google Nest team within the link below.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help here, Cathal_S. I appreciate it.

cobra872, we hear you. While this feature isn't supported with the Chromecast with Google TV, we'll take this as feedback as we're always looking for ways to improve our products and its features. Also, as per advised by Cathal_S, you may send feedback about this using the Google Home app.

Let us know if you have other questions and concerns otherwise, I'll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Thanks,

Jennifer
