I cannot connect to my Chromecast on my new smart TV. I have an iPhone. I am not sure what generation Chromecast I have, but since it is fairly new I will assume 3rd generation. I have read the blogs on this forum and found the following and done every step (except #3, as I have 3 different homes and I don't want to lose all of my device information)
After I reboot everything, I get the Welcome screen on my TV and can see the Chromecast SSID. That's as far as I can get. The light on the Chromecast blinks white, and my Google Home cannot find it. Also, when I try to manually connect to my Chromecast via Settings->Open Wifi, I can see and select the Chromecast SSID -- but once it tries to connect, I get an error message on my iPhone "The Wi-Fi network "Chromecast9591" does not appear to be connected to the Internet"
What else can I try to make this work?

Hi CarlSpaulding,
Thanks for reaching out and for doing some steps beforehand — these are of great help!
Reinstalling the Google Home app will not remove or delete the home structure or the devices linked to it as long as the same Google Account will be signed in on the Google Home app. You may try doing that step. Also, please move your Chromecast to your Wi-Fi router. Plugging it on a different HDMI port on your TV or a different TV screen might also help.
Let me know how it goes.
Best,
Jennifer

Thanks, Jennifer -- not yet. I don't know what you mean by "Also, please move your Chromecast to your Wi-Fi router. " Right now, my Chromecast is attached to the HDMI2 port on my LG OLED smart TV. Can you be more specific as to what you are suggesting I do?

Hello CarlSpaulding,
I'm sorry for the confusion. What I mean is you try to move your devices closer to each other if possible. Make sure the Chromecast is within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router. Also, if the Chromecast is plugged into the HDMI2 port on your TV, please try to plug it in on the HDMI1 port and check if the same issue persists.
Thanks,
Jennifer
