I would like to use Chromecast for just video streaming

Hello there,

I just bought Chromecast in hopes to address a problem with my theater setup, I cannot have cords running across the living room from the projector to the AVR.

As soon as I began working with this product, it became clear that it kept trying to play audio as well as video on my projector. I am hoping to run connect my laptop directly to the AVR for the audio and stream only the video through Chromecast.

My projector:  EPSON PowerLite 3000
AVR: Denon AVRX-1600h

If this is not feasible, sadly I will have to return my Chromecast. Thank you for your time.

You can't do that with a Chromecast device.

Under normal casting, the service (Netflix, Google Movies, etc) streams the audio and video directly to your Chromecast device and you laptop is just getting updates.   It is no handling the stream.  That way, there in no reliance on the power of your laptop.   That is why you can't split the streams.

Well, that is a disappointment. I will have to return it then.

Thanks.
