Library of purchased movies don't play

I have quite a few movies I've purchased over the years andost recently Trolls from the Google Play Store. It shows up in library but EVERY time and mean literally EVERY time I try to play any movie it never works. Just says restart device if the problem persists. I can however play any and all TV shows I've purchased with no issues. It frustratingly only happens on my 3 Chromecast with Google TVs in my house. Playing on my phone and computer no issues. casting it also no issues, but I just want to click and play. This is has been ongoing for months and still no fix.

Thanks for reaching out. Please try the steps listed below and let me know how it goes:

 

  1. Close and reopen the Google Play Movies & TV app.
  2. Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Movies & TV app.
  3. Reboot the mobile device, the Chromecast device, and the router.
  4. Factory reset your Chromecast with Google TV.
